I prefer the center of the city. Wall Street is very good, but in reality, a business address. The measure is in the citywide average.
Check out the Holiday Inn on 57th Street - 10th Ave between 9 and Clean, comfortable and affordable.
Room in Times Square, where you are close to everything. Depending on your budget, I recommend the following link.

Just returned from New York about 3 months, and I'll definitely be back!
We were there for 3 days, but I think 5 days should be sufficient.
Get the 3 + NewYorkPass days, which saves a lot of money!

About the Empire State Building, have enormous economic sounviers New York.
Hotel Reservation Wise at first. We stayed in Chinatown (Hotel 91), but it is clean and relatively cheap, even though the subway at night, eh, not interested in listening. City of a large hotel and cheap, I heard that is not clean and the last thing you want is to bring home to bedbugs.
Broadway Show: Wicked, if it was too expensive (it was for us), so we went to see, "Brute Force", we have an online discount and pay half the price =) to online check! .. Who has this way we will never forget this show .. We had a blast!
